Program Overview
The UBC International Faculty Development Program for Teaching Excellence is designed for university and college professors to enhance effectiveness of their teaching through the study of curricular and pedagogical approaches proven to improve student learning experience and outcomes in the context of immersion in the academic environment of a leading Canadian university. The program explores current issues related to curriculum and pedagogy with a focus on evidence-based practice and recent developments in educational technology in higher education. It encourages participants to think about ways to integrate in their own classrooms the observed research-informed approaches and to become active practitioners of scholarly teaching. A certificate of participation is awarded upon successful completion of the program.

Program Format
The Program combines academic presentations, interactive seminars, workshops, classroom observations, curriculum development activities and exchanges with UBC faculty.
Duration and Fees
The program is normally delivered over a 3-month period. The length of the program can be tailored to the needs of the group. The cost for the academic program is based on a cohort model. Accommodations, medical insurance, local transportation and cultural visits can be arranged and added to the package.
