Inner City Critical Literacy Teacher Professional Development Program, Kingston, Jamaica

Teachers from 25 high schools in Kingston, Jamaica attended a Critical Literacy Workshop in December 2013.

This workshop, presented by Dr. Annette Henry, Professor, Language and Literacy Education, UBC Faculty of Education, was intended to help inner-city teachers in Kingston, Jamaica learn critical literacy strategies.

Teachers came from a range of schools, and with a range of professional development. Teachers learned from each other about the possibilities for their teaching, and were also presented with innovative ideas for their classrooms.
